Surely you've downloaded a large file that is cut into several pieces. These pieces (usually numeric extensions .001, .002, .003 ...) are united and execute the archive that accompanies them, usually with WINRAR .
It might be that during the process of uniting different files that one part is corrupted and caused an error to occur.
SFV files, or parity files, may be used to determine which part is causing the error. These files contain the information about the compressed parts.
FlashSFV is a program that helps you to open parity files. It has a simple interface, a removable open the selected file, and shows you with a color scheme the parts that make up the entire file and if any of them is corrupt or missing. Once you know what's wrong, it will be much easier to remedy the problem.
